John Abbott, Chief Executive HDP writes;
2017 is proving an exiting and rewarding year for HDP. Our core service remains working in partnership with disabled people to enable them to access real choice in their personalised care, together with support and safeguarding. We continue to prioritise working towards full citizenship for local people with disabilities.
HDP has recently embarked or developed other areas in our work;-
- We provide support for people faced with the challenge of completing a “power of attorney” form to help people feel secure about their future care.
- We have enhanced our welfare rights advice service to help people at this difficult time locally with the imposition of “Universal credit”
* We have increased our work with children with special educational needs (SEN) to help them achieve their full potential.
* We employ a small group of specialist Personal assistants support workers to work with people who need and want personalised care
but for whom the complexities of being an “employer ” are a challenge.
